Oh my Chapek - A Tribute

Dumped and left limping in the hill forest in 2022. I clearly remember during our night tour with Nigel, Lucas, and his uncle, the heavy rain suddenly poured on us and she ran under our car for cover. That was the first time we met.

Our regular dog feeder, Jan, named her Chapek, which is local slang for someone who limps. I have no idea...

Because of her friendliness, she loves being around people (good people). Whenever she hears my car coming, she dashes out of the bush, ready to follow. She is street-smart, knowing how to avoid other cars while tagging along up and down the hill. Her incredible endurance enabled her to hobble all the way up to the peak, and then she would rest in the bushes when she became exhausted.

Since 2022, she had been showing up almost regularly during feeding time until 12th April 2026, when Jan reported not seeing her for days. I went up and down searching for her body, but was unsuccessful.

To Chapek, be at peace wherever you are, with no more suffering. Tho you can be annoying sometimes with your barkings while we were looking at birds, yet I still miss you ❤️
